In her book, Sleeping Giant: How the New Working Class Will Transform America, Tamara Draut examines the plight of the new working class. For educated middle class Americans this is an excellent eye opener.
Pages 217-220 provide a rationale for the blueprint in which she also describes the need to overcome fatalism and the need for solidarity and courage. In the final pages of chapter 8 she describes how a Better Deal would reshape our economy to support working people and offers "A Blueprint for a Better Deal". In that is so well thought out and complete I have copied in toto for our class. (You may borrow my copy of the book.)
